THE ROLE

The Staff Accountant will support the Controller and Assistant Controller and play a key role in carrying out the responsibilities of the accounting department. The ideal candidate will possess general ledger accounting experience and the ability to multitask, think independently, and work quickly and accurately.

Job Description

• Reconcile the bank feed daily and post required adjusting journal entries.
• Own the accounts payable process. This includes and is not limited to:
  • Reviewing invoices for appropriate backup documentation
  • Entering invoices; researching and resolving any discrepancies or issues that arise, including communicating with vendors and appropriate team members.
  • Gather all documentation for new vendor creation
  • Facilitate any vendor credits and prepayments that need to be entered into the system
• Update and maintain daily sales tracker and monthly projections; proactively research any discrepancies
• Import weekly company spend from corporate credit card platform
• Perform month-end close procedures including balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and investigation as required
• Work with operations to maintain accurate inventory records; record daily inventory adjustments as needed
• Maintain fixed asset general ledger. This includes maintaining an accurate asset tracker and working cross-functionally with other Wondercide departments.
• Create new inventory items within NetSuite and ensure precise inventory counts.
• Assist in establishing, documenting, and monitoring department policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Perform other duties and special assignments as required

Requirements:

• 2 years of public accounting experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Experience working in Google Sheets and MS Excel
• Firm understanding of GAAP
• Experience in an ERP system such as NetSuite 
• Accept personal responsibility for producing results (individually and as a team).

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively across all levels of employee and management 

Preferred additional skills and/or experiences (helpful but not required):

• CPA preferred 
• Prior experience working in a manufacturing and/or e-commerce environment.
• Previous experience recording accruals and prepaids
• Experience working in Shopify, Ramp,
